At the Family Planning Council, you will find a variety of opportunities to help you sharpen your existing talents while you learn new skills. To meet the needs of both the student and the Family Planning Council, internships can be individually designed.   Our services ensure access to high quality, comprehensive, reproductive, and related health & prevention services to primarily low-income individuals and families.  Additionally, Family Planning Council develops, manages, and promotes programs that are innovative, research-based and responsive to women, men, and adolescents.
 
We perform a variety of functions that assist the provider network in the provision of services.  Primary functions include:

• Patient Services
• Quality Assurance
• Public Affairs
• Training and Technical Assistance
• Research, Needs Assessment and Program Evaluation
• Information Resources and Database Administration
• Fiscal and Grant Administration
• Administration of programs and projects targeting special populations
• Community-based coalitions for teen pregnancy and HIV/STD prevention
• Health Resource Centers in Philadelphia High Schools
• Healthy Women 50 Plus: Breast and Cervical Cancer Project
• Family-Centered AIDS Care for women, children, adolescents
• Parenting and HIV education for incarcerated women

The Council offers a variety of internship opportunities within the areas listed above. Internships at the council generally allow for flexibility in terms of learning objectives, length of time, and range of skills needed to accomplish activities.
