Position Overview

Family Planning Council, a large, well-regarded not-for-profit human services agency in downtown Philadelphia, is seeking an experienced Manager for in its Information Resources Department. The Manager will be responsible for supporting multiple custom software applications and their corresponding databases. The successful candidate will have an expert knowledge of Microsoft Access; Word; Excel; SQL Server 7, 2000 and 2005. The primary Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the development of enhancements and modifications for custom databases.
  • Report preparation, including the compilation of data and statistical reports for internal and external distribution.
  • Running coding and tests/debugs programs.
  • Prepare system and programming documentation.
  • End user training.


Requirements

  • BS Computer Science or Computer engineering
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience in designing and implementing database applications
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage production databases.
  • Must have advanced troubleshooting skills and DB configuration knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage various projects and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
